As massive Forest fans this was viewed as a labour of love. We were aware that NFFC would be looking for a new refit in the close season, it was rumoured that the club would be taking the club shop back under their own wing again.
symbience very quickly designed new look elements for the store and prototyped new display equipment. This had to be produced in line with the launch of the new anniversary 150 year kit, which dictated both tight budgets and a demanding timescales whilst retaining a premium look and feel.
It was essential that the fabric of the shop could cope with busy match days, yet display Forest’s proud heritage from a critical fan’s eye on a none match day visit. Large magnetic graphics were used displaying iconic moments from Forest’s magnificent past, with many images of the club winning European silverware and famous players both past, and present whilst trying to satisfy supporters of all ages.
To cope with the huge amount of foot traffic on a match day everything had to be robust and hard wearing. Powder-coated black mesh panels bolted to transportable steel frames were utilised for the wall bays, with similar constructed mobile gondola’s and a queue management system. All unitary carries the iconic interchangeable magnetic graphics and the Forest club crest and 150 year logo in gold.
The shop was completed on time, on budget and many supporters have posted complimentary comments on various social networks. Every fan seems to have a favourite part of the store, maybe their favourite player is on display or even they can find themselves in the numerous crowd scenes.
The club has issued numerous “glowing” statements regarding the performance of the store and has recorded record shirt sales of all 3 kits. This is great news for all and something at symbience we are very proud of.
